Bubble letters generator

Every letter in its own circle, outlined or solid. Real text, not an image.

🔒 100% local conversion: your text never leaves your browser.

All other available styles

Paste your text and copy it back with every letter inside a circle or a square: Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ, 🅑🅤🅑🅑🅛🅔, 🄱🅄🄱🄱🄻🄴. These are real Unicode characters, not an image, so the result stays selectable text wherever you paste it. Four styles, nothing to install, nothing sent to a server.

Where do circled letters come from?

These characters have been in Unicode since 1993, in the "enclosed alphanumerics" block. They were originally used to number items in Japanese and Korean technical documents, where that kind of marker is standard. Social media adopted them much later.

Circles or squares: which style should you use?

Four variants are offered. Outlined circles (Ⓐ) exist in both cases. Filled circles (🅐), squares (🄰) and filled squares (🅰) are uppercase only — so your text is automatically capitalised for those three.

How are bubble letters counted in a bio?

Visual width and character count are different. Ten Latin letters converted to filled squares remain ten Unicode code points, but use twenty UTF-16 code units. Each application chooses how to count its limit, and the font determines the displayed width. Check the counter and preview where you intend to paste the result.

What exactly does each style convert?

Characters without an enclosed equivalent stay visible. In the three uppercase-only styles, an accented letter can become uppercase (é → É); ß stays ß. No unsupported letter is silently removed.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my text turn uppercase?

Because filled circle, square and filled square only exist as capitals in Unicode. The outlined circle style keeps your lowercase.

Do bubble letters work on every phone?

Outlined circles are very widely supported. The filled and squared versions are newer and may render as coloured emoji or empty boxes on older devices.

Can I get bubble numbers?

Circled digits exist in Unicode but on a separate range. This tool handles letters; digits pass through unchanged.

What happens to accented letters?

Unicode has no circled é, ü or ñ, so they come back exactly as you typed them. In the three uppercase-only styles they are capitalised but keep their usual shape, which makes them easy to spot in the result.

Is the result still real text?

Yes. Every character is a genuine Unicode code point, so it can be selected, copied and read by a screen reader. Be aware that a search box will not match Ⓐ against a plain A.
